Blair Fridley is a part time dance instructor with Springs Dance. Blair took her first dances lessons at the age of 2 years old and has been dancing ever since. Blair has studied many genres of dance including Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Lyrical/Contemporary, and Musical Theatre. While a student at Powhatan High School in Virginia, Blair was a member of her school’s dance team and was captain her senior year. Blair also attended Premiere Dance Studio where she was an award-winning competitive dancer, as well as captain of their competition dance team.
After graduating, Blair returned to her former studio and was an instructor and choreographer for their classes and their award-winning premiere competition team. She also taught dance at Milby’s in Richmond, VA where she worked with younger children.
Blair has had the opportunity to study at both New York’s Broadway Dance Center and both the Millennium Dance Complex and The Edge studios in Los Angeles. She has trained with well-known dancers and instructors such as Travis Wall, Sonya Tayeh, Donyelle Jones, Ivan Koumaev, Frank Hattchet, Barry Youngblood, Mallory Graham, Danny and Jamie Hoctor, and the Rockettes.
After marrying a US Air Force Lieutenant, Blair moved to Albuquerque, NM where she continued to dance and teach. She also became a teacher for a preschool where she worked with underprivileged children. Blair has always loved working with children. Dance is her passion and instructing allows her to pass this on to others.
Blair is delighted to now be a part of Springs Dance’s faculty. She is excited to share her love of dance with others while she continuing her own training.
