Pre-Dance is a preparatory program for toddlers and preschoolers designed to encourage a love of dance in a nurturing environment that emphases learning body awareness and important classroom skills like following directions and taking turns!
This six month program focuses on basic preparatory terminology and techniques for ballet, tap, and jazz. Students will develop strength and coordination while learning pre-acrobatic movements, will participate in simple counting and music exercises to strengthen rhythm and listening skills, as well as learning how to participate appropriately in a formal dance class. Fill out the form to the right and we’ll contact you with more information about pre-dance at Springs Dance.
Pre-Dance for 2 Year Olds
For dancers ages 24 to 36 months, pre-dance is a parent-participation program. This means that a parent must participate with their dancer in each class. It is normal for brand new 2 year olds to be nervous in their first few classes, but you’ll be excited to see how quickly your toddler will learn not only physical skills, but also good classroom behavior after some consistent practice.
Pre-Dance for 3-4 Year Olds
3 and 4 year old students take pre-dance classes independently. Using an age-appropriate curriculum, students learn the basics of ballet, tap, and jazz technique and terminology. Students learn to participate appropriately in a classroom environment and upon successful completion of the program, may qualify to join the Springs Dance Fundamentals program. 3 and 4 year old pre-dance students also have the opportunity to showcase their new skills on stage at the annual Springs Dance recital.
